Busy Week Ahead

Well as usual everything falls on the same week. Next week we've got a speech and language assessment and a orthotics appointment just to check the new stability boots are working fine.
Well I expect the speech and language to attempt to discharge him again as the autistic outreach worker is doing social skills with him at school they feel that's enough and they can't offer anything more. At the social skills group the S&L dept ran he got really upset at the second group he went to and was asked to leave early on first week off sick the second and asked to leave after the first five minutes the next because he went into his 'silly' mode where he likes to do silly things and will not or just can't listen to anyone, I've only seen it a few times in specific places. I don't blame him for finding the group hard to settle into, as predicted the timing of it was just ridiculous, it was on the other side of the city and there was just enough time to drive over to it after school. Straight after school is Stephen's release time where he kind of gets a bit hyperactive usually and just wants to jump about or if it's a particularly tiring day he might veg out in front of cartoons but that's rare. Anyway at least she's going to do full assessment again so we'll see what happens in a few months when we get the report.
As for the boots well they're fine, as in, not hurting him or anything though he found them uncomfortable to begin with, cause they were so different from the splints he'd been wearing for past couple of years. Anyway the main thing with them is the toe walking is back in full swing, and I had thought it was gone - just shows how well the splints actually worked. They are going to monitor his muscles etc and if they stiffen up again due to the toe walking he can get the splints back again later so that's another wait and see. I suppose a lot of things in life are like that. Just seems more than our fair share for people living within the autism world!
